Monster Hunter Stories received a big blowout today. On top of Capcom announcing things like a release date and amiibo, we have a trailer and plenty of details about the anime, Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On.

First, the video:

Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On will start airing on October 8, every Sunday at 8:30 AM on Fuji TV. It’s also been 10 years since Fuji TV last has a new anime slot. As one would expect, it’s based on the new video game.

The main character is named Ryuto, who rides a Rathalos. He has childhood friends Cheval and Lilia, both of them riding on a Rathian.

Zombie Vikings, the newest title from Stick it to the Man! creator Zoink Games, was confirmed for Wii U last August. Sadly, the developer has now said that the eShop release has been canned.

8-Worlds News heard from Zoink that Zombie Vikings is no longer planned for Wii U. The team is instead focusing on other projects, while adding that NX is being considered for future development.

Mighty No. 9 publisher Deep Silver uploaded a new trailer for the game yesterday. To say that it wasn’t received well might be an understatement. Have a look at the YouTube page here, and you’ll truly understand how fans have responded to the video.

Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu is none too pleased with the new Mighty No. 9 trailer either. Aizu recently put up the message shown above on his Twitter page yesterday. Perhaps Deep Silver should have consulted with Inti Creates, as they were behind the project’s development.

Next month, all Minecraft users on consoles will have access to a new mini-game: “Battle”. The free DLC has players battling it out against each other in a deathmatch, and comes as the first of various mini-games on the way.

Here’s an official overview:

Battle pits players against one another in a fight for survival, as they race to snatch weapons and resources from chests, dance over each arena’s unique perils and stave off hunger pangs. We’ve made the mini game specifically with console players and couch-based competition in mind: it supports up to four players in splitscreen and eight players online, either by invitation or using the in-game matchmaking system. We wanted it to be super-accessible and fast-paced, so we’ve tried to keep the focus on rapid tactical thinking and combat: there’s no need to craft anything here, and you can loot inventories and equip armour with the tap of a button.

Battle will be added to Minecraft sometime next month. Additional maps will be available in the future for $2.99 each.
