DLC

DLC is coming to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has revealed.

An Expansion Pass will be offered for the game at launch for $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99. You’ll then receive three new treasure chests that can be found at the Great Plateau. One contains a shirt with a Switch logo that Link can wear, exclusive to the Expansion Pass. Nintendo says that “The other two will deliver useful items.”

The final wave of Hyrule Warriors / Legends DLC featured Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It was highlighted by the addition of two new characters: Ravio and Yuga.

In a recent issue of Nintendo Dream, producer Yosuke Hayashi chatted about the final DLC in-depth. He commented on why two characters were included in the DLC, their weapons, and making them playable. Continue on below for our full translation.

New DLC for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 came out in Japan last month. While we wait for the western release, take a look at some footage of the content below.

XSEED has found itself in a bind with Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns’ downloadable content. The new content could either be sold as paid DLC, or abandoned entirely.

XSEED explained a blog post:

“The total size of the DLC is over 200,000 Japanese characters, making it as large as some games we’ve released. The first Corpse Party, for example, has about 210,000 characters.

The last round of DLC was released in Japan in mid-December, which means that the Japanese text was completed after we’d entered the QA and submission phase of localizing the main game. With DLC of this size, including it in the game would have been impossible under our schedule. It would have forced us to release months after we’d originally planned.

HullBreach Studios still has plenty of plans for SDK Spriter. Some new free and paid content is in the works for the downloadable Wii U app.

First, a platformer level mode is coming to SDK Spriter at no extra cost. The indie studio is also making a turn-based battle mode which will be offered as paid DLC. Details on both are practically non-existent at the moment, though we’ll probably be receiving concrete information sooner rather than later.

Natsume announced three new DLC packs for Harvest Moon: Skytree Village today. Players can nab new bachelor and bachelorette character packs on January 24, followed by a Harvest Sprite Statue on February 14.

Here’s the full rundown:

“The new male marriageable candidate is Edmond, a grand mage, who trained both Gareth and Tabitha, and whose knowledge of the world far exceeds either of them. Despite this, he is rather calm and introspective in comparison to the slightly arrogant Gareth and boisterous Tabitha. He has returned to the land of the Harvest Goddess after some time, but what brought him back? Is there some sort of deeper secret he hides within? Also included in this DLC is a statue of the beautiful Harvest Goddess!

The new female marriageable candidate is Nova, a kind and strong-willed girl who showed up in Skytree Village, yet how she got there is a bit of a tale in itself. Her father is a human from the surface world, while her mother is of the tribe of Gorgan from the Underworld Kingdom. Since she was raised in the dark and damp underground mines of the Underworld, the surface world is still a bit strange and confusing to her. Help her learn the ways of the surface dwellers! This DLC also includes a statue of the eccentric creator, Doc!

Available on February 14th, for free, players can beautify their farm with this fantastic DLC set featuring the Harvest Sprite Statue and Harvest Goddess’ Pergola! Once downloaded, these two new buildings will be added to players’ Insta-Buildings list. What’s more, the Harvest Goddess’ Pergola comes in a variety of different colors!”

For those looking for DLC right now, the Farm Decorations Set is available for free, adding new types of walls.

As for the upcoming content, the New Male and Female Character sets will cost $2.99 each. The Harvest Sprite Statue and Harvest Goddess Pergola will be free.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 received DLC in Japan this week. It’s planned for North America and Europe as well. In a blog post, Inti Creates said it’s targeting January for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2’s DLC.

A demo was also supposed to go live in North America on Thursday, but it wasn’t mentioned in the official Nintendo Download announcement. I’m also not seeing anything on the eShop itself, so there must have been some sort of miscommunication. In any case, Azure Striker Gunvolt’s 2 demo should be out sometime in January.

Lastly, the Azure Striker Gunvolt New Year’s wallpaper pictured above can be downloaded here.
