Windjammers 2 gets January 2022 release date, new trailer

It’s been a long time coming, but Windjammers 2 finally has a release date. After it was announced over three years ago, Dotemu confirmed today that the game will arrive on January 20, 2022.
Windjammers 2 was first made known for Switch in August 2018. It was originally planned for release in 2019.

Indie World Showcase announced for December 15

A new Indie World Showcase will air tomorrow on December 15, 2021, Nintendo has announced.
Per usual, the event will cover brand new titles for Switch as well as updates on previously-known games. It will last about 20 minutes.

Chocobo GP gets release date, free Lite version, new trailer

Chocobo GP now has a release date on Switch, and a Lite version has been revealed. The racer will launch on March 10, 2022, Square Enix confirmed today.
A free-to-download version of the game, titled Chocobo GP Lite, will be available at launch. Here racers can play through the Story Mode prologue in single player mode and can participate in both local and online multiplayer races with up to eight racers, if hosted by a friend with the full version of the game. Moreover, Chocobo GP Lite players can test out the fast-paced 64-player tournaments in Chocobo GP mode. Save data can be carried over from Chocobo GP Lite to the full game.

Original (12/11): SEGA has shared more information about Sonic Frontiers – including confirmation that writer Ian Flynn is on board.
At The Game Awards 2021 this week, SEGA finally shared a proper unveiling for the game. It had been teased earlier in the year with practically no information. But a new video finally gave fans a first look as to what they can expect from the project.

US: Shin Megami Tensei V has highest launch month dollar sales of any Shin Megami Tensei title in history

While we don’t have specific sales figures, Shin Megami Tensei V appears to be off to a good start in the United States.
The NPD Group released its latest gaming sales report today, and it includes a note about Atlus’ Switch RPG. Interestingly enough, it saw the highest launch month dollar sales of any Shin Megami Tensei title in history.

Dragonite is joining Pokemon Unite next week, The Pokemon Company and Timi Studio Group revealed today. A release is planned for December 20.
According to The Pokemon Company, the creature “is a powerful ranged All-Rounder that makes a big impact”.

All mainline Pokemon game launches in the UK ranked based on sales

New data from the UK has ranked all of the mainline Pokemon games going back to the Game Boy based on how big their launches were in terms of sales.
It’s actually Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, a pair of 3DS titles, that topped the list. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are right behind at #2. We just saw the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl on Switch, which come in at #5.
