Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate won’t be running in 60 FPS – at least with 3DS’ 3D turned on.

According to a tweet sent out by Armature co-owner and technical director Jack Mathews a few weeks back, the goal is to have Blackgate locked at 30 FPS with the system’s 3D functionality enabled. Mathews didn’t say if the game will receive any sort of boost with 3D turned off. He did, however, clarify in the same tweet that the 3DS version isn’t a port of the Vita title (and vise versa, presumably).

Here’s Mathews’ tweet in full:

Despite rumors to the contrary, Kevin Conroy will in fact be voicing Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins. Conroy also voiced Batman’s role in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

Rumors regarding Conroy’s departure for Origins circulated after a report came in from NAG Magazine. But during a Q&A session at the Dallas Comic-Con, Conroy confirmed that he’s been involved with the “next Arkham game” for the past “nine or ten months”. While Origins isn’t specifically mentioned, it’s the only new entry in the mainline Arkham series.

The official Japanese Resident Evil: Revelations HD website contains a few comparison images. Two of the shots compare the original 3DS game to the HD update while the other three show the differences between the Infernal and Casual/Normal mode.

Not much has been said about Sonic Lost World. One piece of art slipped through the latest Nintendo Direct, and that was pretty much it.

But in a brief follow-up with the Associated Press, SEGA of America president John Cheng did confirm that the game will “introduce new gameplay and enemies”. Fans of the series can also expect Sonic’s “same friends” and “some new ones as well.”

“With ‘Sonic Lost World,’ we’re going to introduce new gameplay and enemies, which is always fun. In terms of Sonic and his friends, he’ll have his same friends there, and I think there’ll be some new ones as well. It’s not a reiteration. It’s going to be all new.”

Cheng added that, for Wii U, Nintendo’s deal with SEGA “should be a win-win situation,” adding that we shouldn’t “count Nintendo out.”

From here on out, Pokemon X/Y will be highlighted on the Japanese television show Pokemon Smash every week up until launch. The news was shared during the latest episode shown earlier today. While there are no guarantees that brand new content will be shown each week, fans can look forward to a steady stream of updates.

SEGA is working in partnership with Nintendo on three Sonic games: Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, and an unannounced project. Could that last one be some kind of racer from Sumo Digital, the maker of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed?

Sumo executive producer Steve Lycett sent out a few very interesting tweets last month. Lycett’s messages allude to the fact that he’d like to follow-up Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed with a new game that “could finally settle some arguments” such as “Who’s really win a kart race”. When one user mentioned a Pac-Man World Rally crossover, Lycett said he “was thinking there are bigger rivals” – like Mario and Sonic, maybe?

I can imagine two possibilities: a completely brand new game involving Mario and Sonic, or some kind of appearance in Mario Kart’s new Wii U outing. On the other hand, it’s possible that this is nothing at all and we’re completely looking into things.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Update: The 38,000 figure seems to be pretty much spot on. Analyst Michael Pachter all but confirmed it to be the real deal on Twitter:

A rough estimate of US Wii U hardware sales for the month of April is in. Data provided by the ever-reliable NPD leaker “creamsugar” indicates the console sold between 30,000 and 40,000 units last month. Another leak from 2ch puts the system at around 38,000 units.

Amazingly, the Wii outsold the Wii U once again. The older console sold between 50,000 and 40,000 units in the US last month.
