Update: An official website for the Switch version of Fate/Extella Link has been opened by Marvelous. From this page, it is confirmed that the game will support English, traditional Chinese, and Hangul subtitle options. The first trailer for the game has been added below.

Original: Fate/Extella Link will be released on Switch, a listing on Amazon Japan reveals. The page has it down for January 31.

A followup to Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, Fate/Extella Link is an action game with more Servents, online multiplayer, and more. The Switch version will support local multiplayer through 4v4 battles along with plush/chibi costumes for Nero, Tamamo-no-Mae, and Altera that resemble Kigurumi in appearance.

Here’s an overview for Fate/Extella Link along with first Switch screenshots:

The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Skybound announced this past weekend that it is picking up the pieces left behind by Telltale’s closure to finish The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Two episodes have been released, though two more still need to be finished. That’s where Skybound comes in.

Speaking with Variety, president Dan Murray noted that the company hopes to work with the original team on the last episodes. He also spoke generally about the recent news surrounding Telltale and more, in which he stated:

A document from the European Commission has outed several unannounced titles. Trine 4 and Earthlock 2 are among the projects listed, along with upcoming titles from companies like Zoink games.

Platforms are not attached to any of these projects. However, in the case of Earthlock 2, its predecessor has appeared on Switch and Wii U. Frozenbyte also has history with Nintendo consoles having released the Trine games on Wii U while the third entry in the series has been rumored for Switch (and Nine Parchments).

Dragon Quest X is somewhat of an odd entry in the series. Square Enix made it as an MMORPG, and it’s not available at the moment in the west. Perhaps that could change in the future.

Yosuke Saito, who previously was a producer, indicated that there’s interest in making an offline version of Dragon Quest X during the Super Dragon Quest X TV Fall Festival 10-Hour Special 2018 broadcast. He said:

Pokemon GO has announced some notable updates planned for the game. Though we don’t have a date yet, Pokemon from the Sinnoh region are on the way. Also planned are changes to Pokemon migration and behavior plus battle mechanics.

Here’s the full rundown as to what’s planned:

Nintendo Switch

Update: Patch notes added below.

Original: About a month ago, Switch received its major 6.0.0 update. It paved the way for Nintendo Switch Online and cloud saves, among other things.

Nintendo has now released the latest firmware update. Version 6.01 is out now and can be downloaded by all users. No word yet on what is included, but it’s likely a small patch. When we hear more about the latest firmware, we’ll update this post.

DrinkBox Studios has revealed that both of its Guacamelee games are coming to Switch. In fact, the first title is out today on the eShop. Guacamelee 2 will follow in December.

The Guacamelee games are Metroidvania action platformers. The first one ended up on Wii U a few years ago while DrinkBox only just wrapped up the sequel in August.

I recently fell into Chasm, an action-adventure game that borrows heavily from the exploratory Castlevania games. Many retro games have left their mark here but all the glitters is not old, and procedural generation helps Chasm build a bridge to the future. Now grab that whip, back dash to your seat, don’t drink the holy water; we’re about to find out why Chasm is deep and meaningful.
