Update: Added in a higher-quality version of the trailer.

Original: Another new character has been confirmed for the arcade version of Pokken Tournament. However, the roster addition comes as a bit of a surprise. While many expected Empoleon to be announced, Croagunk will instead be joining the fighting title.

Here’s a trailer as shown during a Niconico live stream today:

And some footage:

Croagunk joins Pokken Tournament arcade on November 10.

Remakes are a well-known part of the Pokemon franchise. New titles are produced regularly, but older ones are visited fairly frequently. Fans might be interested to hear that Game Freak remains interested in this.

Series producer Junichi Masuda told IGN:

“I think the remakes, like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, is still an approach we’re interested in. With the Virtual Console releases of the original games, specifically there had never been a way to bring those Pokemon over to the latest generation. It had always been that you couldn’t get those Pokemon out.”

Yesterday, we published our interview with Inti Creates about the Azure Striker Gunvolt series as a whole. We’re following up on that today with a specific interview with Yacht Club Games about the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack.

During our discussion, Yacht Club was kind enough to take on some questions regarding the package’s origins, its status in Europe, where the amiibo integration in Gunvolt 2 came from, and more. Head past the break for all of the company’s comments.

We have one simple question to ask as part of this week’s Let’s Talk topic. When the new Pokemon games come out, are you planning on picking up Sun, Moon, or both?

Just like with past entries, Sun and Moon will feature exclusive Pokemon. Sun naturally has Solgaleo while Moon offers Lunala. Others include Midday Form Lycanroc and Passimian in Sun while Moon contains Midnight Form Lycanroc and Oranguru. Aside from that, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon take place 12 hours apart, and Totem Pokemon will depend on the version you choose.

I’m personally still trying to figure out which version I’m more interested in. I’m leaning slightly more towards Sun, but I may just pick up both in the end. What about you guys?

Highlights from last week’s topic: Your reactions to Switch

Nintendo Everything recently caught up with Inti Creates for a chat about the Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise. We sent some questions to director Yoshihisa Tsuda and producer Takuya Aizu.

During our discussion, we talked about Azure Striker Gunvolt’s origins, scrapped ideas from the sequel, and the series’ we future. We even snuck in some questions about a potential amiibo and the anime OVA.

Continue on below for our full interview with Tsuda and Aizu.

A new five-minute trailer for Pokemon Sun/Moon has just went live on the series’ Japanese YouTube page. The video focuses on the seven different themes of the two games. Additionally, we have three commercials, including the one from last night in higher quality. Find it all below.

Level-5 has been a staunch supporter of Nintendo platforms for many years. This will continue with Switch, as the company is already confirmed to be on board. Just don’t expect any titles immediately.

In an interview with Vandal, CEO Akihiro Hino said Level-5 won’t have any games ready for Switch’s launch. As for why, he explained that they want to “find out the best way to get the most out of the console” and “how to take advantage of it.”

Hino’s full comments:

“We plan to make games for Nintendo Switch, but I think it’s very important to find out the best way to get the most out of the console. For that reason, we won’t have any titles at launch, but we’ll work with it as soon as we figure out how to take advantage of it.”

Level-5 is working on several projects, including Lady Layton, The Snack World, Inazuma Eleven Ares, and Megaton Musashi. Some of these are planned for 3DS, and a couple may end up on Switch as well. Megaton Musashi probably won’t be ready until 2018, so it might make more sense to create it for Switch rather than 3DS.
