Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is nearing its May 4 launch on Switch. Ahead of its release, Digital Foundry is taking a look at the game to see how it stacks up to the Wii U original.
First, let’s talk resolution. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze ran at 720p on Wii U. When docked on Switch, it increases to 1080p. Digital Foundry estimates the portable resolution to be roughly 648p.

Arc System Works revealed at the Nexon Developers Conference 2018 today that Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R is heading to Switch. Fortunately, the company has quickly followed up with an announcement for the west.
Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R marks the first time that the series will be appearing on Switch. It originally released in arcades as Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, and has become a fan favorite after undergoing a tuneup to optimize each characters’ individual concept.

Shining Resonance Refrain out on July 10, new characters trailer

Shining Resonance Refrain has been dated. The RPG will arrive in both North America and Europe on July 10, the company announced today.
Fans will be able to purchase the Draconic Launch Edition. This includes the game in a collectible metal slipcase, featuring character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 – Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War DLC out today, trailer

After it was announced last week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that the Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Character and Level Pack is available today in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. The DLC adds a level and characters straight from the comics in celebration of the upcoming film.

As we found out yesterday, Splatoon 2 version 3.0.0 is dropping tonight. The major update goes live at roughly 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.

Mojang and 4J Studios have announced the latest update for Minecraft on Switch and Wii U. The latest patch should be available tonight.
There isn’t too much to this update compared to past releases, but it will bring a notable addition. Players will be able to obtain the new Final Fantasy XV Skin Pack.
Aside from that, an issue is being addressed in which the game would crash when players looked at a Cauldron while holding a Water Bottle obtained by Fishing.
Penguin Wars delayed to mid-to-late June, limited Launch Edition revealed

Dispatch Games’ Penguin Wars is getting a slight delay. Previously scheduled for May 15th, the game is now set to launch “mid-to-late June”. Also, Dispatch Games is selling a limited-quantity “Launch Edition” at their newly-launched online store. For $39.99, you get the game itself, a download code for the game’s soundtrack as well as threaded, heat-cut character patch of Riley. There are only 5,000 copies of the Launch Edition available, so get your pre-order in quick if you want one.

Sonic Mania Plus coming to Japan, Sonic Mania sold 1 million copies worldwide

The new issue of Famitsu has revealed that Sonic Mania Plus, the enhanced version of Sonic Mania featuring two new playable characters with Mighty and Ray, is coming to Japan. There will be a physical version as well as the option to download the new content as DLC for those who already own Sonic Mania.
Also, the magazine revealed that Sonic Mania has sold one million copies worldwide so far.
