Wii U

The Minecraft Star Wars Sequel Skin Pack will soon be available on both Switch and Wii U. Mojang published a trailer for the DLC today, and we have it below.

New content is being added today to Minecraft on both Switch and Wii U. The highlights are the Halo Mash-Up Pack as well as the Star Wars Sequel Skin Pack.

Alongside the DLC, Switch and Wii U are both receiving a new update tonight / tomorrow. We have the full patch notes below.

WayForward published an update today on their Kickstarter page for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, detailing the final stretch goal: the Costume Pack DLC. The content boasts three new adventures, featuring Ninja Shantae, Beach Shantae, and Officer Shantae. The developer notes the upcoming DLC will be launching in a few weeks.

Game Informer published two new interviews with Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami today. Aside from one discussion that was more on the serious side, the second was off-beat and was more about lore. Best Buy is kicking off a new sale on a whole bunch of video games this week, including Switch and 3DS. There are definitely more titles on sale for Nintendo’s console, but 3DS has a few highlights of its own.

On Switch, games such as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Fire Emblem Warriors have been discounted. On 3DS, Best Buy has put Fire Emblem Warriors, Fire Emblem Echoes, Monster Hunter Stories, and Metroid: Samus Returns on sale.

The award season is just about wrapping up, but one of the last few major events was hosted tonight. Winners for the 2018 Game Developers Choice Awards were revealed during a ceremony at the San Francisco Moscone Center.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the big winner, taking home three awards in total. The title was also chosen as “Game of the Year”.

Now that Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition has come out in Japan, we’re able to see how the new Switch version compares to the Wii U original. View a video stacking both releases up against each other below.

Splatoon producer Hisashi Nogami delved into the development of the Wii U game as well as its sequel during his GDC session earlier today. At the panel, a brief clip was actually shown of the tofu prototype that was first mentioned a few years ago during the Iwata Asks interview.

It’s not the best quality, but someone did manage to take a video of the prototype from GDC. You can watch it below.
