[Let’s Talk] Most anticipated games of 2021
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
2021 will be bringing along the best and brightest games. Switch is in the prime of its life cycle currently and will surely offer many more memorable experiences over the next twelve months.
From Nintendo itself, the company’s lineup is actually a bit of a mystery at the moment. We know that Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will be dropping along with Bravely Default II (published in the west) in February and New Pokemon Snap is planned for the very end of April, but there’s much that’s up in the air. You would think that Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 would have a good chance of a 2021 launch, though nothing is for certain. There are other question marks as well like Bayonetta 3.
While Nintendo is keeping its cards close to the vest, there are some heavy hitters from third-parties on the way. The lineup for 2021 already includes Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2, No More Heroes 3, Persona 5 Strikers, Atelier Ryza 2, Little Nightmares II, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, Capcom Arcade Stadium, Balan Wonderworld, Rune Factory 5, Story of Seasons: Friends of Olive Town, Disgaea 6, Cyber Shadow, and Axiom Verge 2. We definitely didn’t name everything here, and you know that we’ll be seeing plenty of announcements throughout 2021.
Based on what we know so far, what are your most anticipated games of 2021? Let us know in the comments below.

Engine Software has been behind some notable Switch ports that have recently landed on Switch. The studio handled No More Heroes 1 and 2 as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – Complete Edition. Engine Software’s relationship has also continued with NIS America, working on The Legend of Heroes, Ys, and more for Switch.
Not too long ago, Nintendo Everything caught up Engine Software co-founder and vice president Ruud van de Moosdijk to talk more about these projects. We discussed a few other topics as well, including the never-ending rumors of new Switch hardware.
Here’s our full discussion:

PlatinumGames hopes to give an update on Bayonetta 3 and more in 2021
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Switch | 0 comments
When PlatinumGames is asked about Bayonetta 3, you tend to get the same response. Aside from the studio constantly reassuring fans that development is going well, we haven’t really heard much about the game. That’s been the case since the project was originally announced at The Game Awards in December 2017.
There’s still no word on when Bayonetta 3 will release, but perhaps we’ll finally hear more this year. That’s based on a brief comment from PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya.
During one of the recent Arcade Archives streams, Kamiya – who is known for his appreciation of classic games – had a phone conversation with Hamster boss Satoshi Hamada. Kamiya ended up suggesting that there could be a status update on Bayonetta 3 and other upcoming titles from the studio in 2021.

Virtuos on how it ported BioShock and XCOM 2 to Switch, difficulties, development length

Update: After looking at Automaton Media piece again, we’ve verified that our translation is correct. However, the publication may have mixed up its transcript. The site should have written “GPU” instead of “CPU” for the line: “The CPU’s performance can be changed rather quickly by reducing the resolution and graphics settings, so CPU optimization is usually the priority.”
Last year, new collections from 2K made their way to Switch. BioShock: The Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, and Borderlands Legendary Collection ended up on the platform.
Aside from Borderlands, Virtuos was responsible for everything else. And during an interview with Automaton Media, the studio’s Andy Fong and Lukas Codr shared interesting details about the Switch ports of the BioShock games and XCOM 2. The two spoke about the actual porting process, difficulties encountered along the way, and how long it took to complete development.

[Review] Override 2: Super Mech League
Posted on 4 years ago by Campbell(@CampbellSGill) in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: December 22, 2020
Developer: Modus Games
Publisher: Modus Games
Override 2: Super Mech League is a simple game built on a simple concept: it’s all about the visceral joy of destroying everything around you in a giant mech suit. As a party-style fighting game where up to four players duke it out as gigantic robots, it offers a wide variety of gameplay modes and a large roster of fighters. It ticks off all the boxes for a decent multiplayer brawler, but the question remains: does it pack a mechanical punch that keeps players coming pack for hours on end, or does its gameplay ultimately feel robotic?

Suikoden creator would be open to revisiting the series
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Interviews, Switch | 0 comments
Suikoden came to be thanks to the ideas from Yoshitaka Murayama. He acted as director, producer, and writer on the series’ initial releases, but he also worked on later entries as well. Murayama ended up leaving Konami around two decades ago, but he’s not opposed to revisiting the series.
Speaking with Nintendo Everything, Murayama mentioned that the new JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle is his current focus and the fact that he’s in complete control of the IP is certainly a plus. At the same time, he would be “more than happy to work on another Suikoden game if the chance presented itself in the future.”
