This week, Japanese magazine Famitsu published a new Astral Chain interview with director Takahisa Taura, supervisor Hideki Kamiya, and producer Eijiro Nishimura. It was pretty in-depth at six pages long, but we’ll summarize some of the points here.
Astral Chain came into the picture after Nintendo contacted PlatinumGames to make a game with high difficulty. The game has been a long time coming, as they worked on the plans since before development on NieR: Automata started. To complete the entire project, it took a long time – somewhere around five years.

LCG Entertainment is bringing Telltale Games back from the dead
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
After shutting down nearly a year ago, Telltale Games is returning. LCG Entertainment announced today that it “has purchased the defunct studio’s key assets, trademarks, technology, and select intellectual properties with the intent of re-releasing select games from the studio’s back catalog and developing new games in some of the company’s best-selling brands.” LCG will represent itself as the original Telltale Games name.
Today’s press release mentions that “key talent” from the original Telltale has been “hired or contracted”. A focus on both core IPs and new IPs is planned going forward. Fans can expect information regarding the re-release of back catalog titles and new games in existing franchises “in the coming weeks.”

The Lion King and Aladdin HD remasters on the way for Switch
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Update: This is now confirmed and will be releasing on Switch. See the image below (thanks GameXplain).
Original: During the SNES/SEGA Genesis era, games were made based on Aladdin and The Lion King. Many years later, it’s rumored that the two will be returning on new platforms.
HD remasters for Aladdin and Lion King were allegedly announced at the GameStop Managers Conference today. Twitter user wolverinefactor says they’ll be arriving on “all systems” (which would presumably include Switch) in October. The original soundtracks and SNES/Genesis versions will be included.
We won’t have to wait long to find out if there’s truth to today’s report. Apparently, GameStop will be opening pre-orders tomorrow.
