New sales data is in from the UK for the month of January.

GamesIndustry reports that there was an increase in physical games sold last month compared to the same period the year prior. 1.25 million boxed games were sold, up slightly from the 1.24 million boxed games sold in January 2017. Revenue also rose year-over-year from £35 million to £37 million.

Nintendo is credited for the rise in performance, which makes sense given how Switch wasn’t around in January 2017. The Big N held a 9% share of the software market at that point, but in January 2018, rose to 13.6% and was the top games company in the UK in terms of physical sales.

Last week, Japanese magazine Famitsu published a fairly lengthy Project Octopath Traveler interview. Producer Masashi Takahashi from Square Enix and director Keisuke Miyauchi from Acquire were brought in to discuss the Switch exclusive.

One point mentioned is how the team started this project with Tomoya Asano, the chief producer who also worked as producer of the Bravely series. The primary concept is “going on a journey.” The player would choose one of the eight protagonists, role-plays as them, and freely has a journey with the world.

At Niconico Chokaigi today, Nintendo revealed two new amiibo for Splatoon 2. Pearl and Marina will both be getting their own figures. By purchasing the amiibo, you’ll be able to take pictures with the idols and obtain special gear.

Here’s a trailer:

The Pearl and Marina amiibo are heading to stores later this year. In North America, they’ll be sold in a 2-pack for $24.99.

One of the big features Milestone is promoting for Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame is a track editor. Players will be able to choose a stadium, make a course, and share it online features with friends. While that’s certainly a nice feature, it unfortunately won’t be included in the Switch version.

A subscriber email mentions the missing functionality from Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame on Switch. Currently, we don’t have any details as to why the track editor won’t be present on Switch. We attempted to reach out to Milestone this week, but thus far have not received a reply. If we happen to receive more information pertaining to the situation, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame will be out on Tuesday. If you have interest in the game, keep in mind that the track editor won’t be available on Switch.
