A PR stunt has gone seriously wrong for Watch Dogs in Australia, as Mumbrella report that a bomb squad had to be called to newsstation Ninemsn’s office. Apparently a package arrived with a letter and a small safe, with instructions for the addressee to check their voicemail. Of course with no voicemail to check, a pin was punched into the safe, it started beeping and… Things started to escalate. After checking with other newsrooms to see if they’d received something similar, staff eventually were evacuated and the bomb squad was called. Ninemsn’s Hal Crawford told Mumbrella “This is definitely the other side of the line in terms of what is safe for a PR company to send anonymously to a newsroom. The thing was black, heavy and slightly creepy.” After the bomb squad was called, the safe was carefully opened… and a copy of Watch Dogs was found.
But any publicity is good publicity right?
Former Index CEO Masami Ochiai and former president Yoshimi Ochiai have both been arrested for fraud, Japanese outlet Nikkei is reporting. The two have both been charged with falsifying financial records and inflating profits during their time with the company.
When it was suspected of improper accounting last year, Index eventually filed for bankruptcy and was sold to SEGA Sammy.
Masami Ochiai is pleading his innocence for the time being, stating that he “did not do anything illegal” when asked about Nikkei’s coverage of the situation.
You can find more information over at Siliconera.
Over on NeoGAF, Nicalis’ Tyrone Rodriguez discussed a number of topics/complaints brought up by fans, such as the lack of news regarding Guxt for 3DS, Grinsia’s technical problems, and more.

You’ll be performing a lot of tricks when Mario Kart 8 drops this week, but it’ll probably be because of the speed boost you get as opposed to being able to watch your character pull off some fancy stunts. If you’re curious to see how the characters will look before the game drops (and you know, before blue shells and collecting coins are occupying all your thought power) check out the video below
