Dragon Ball FighterZ

You may recall that back in May, Xbox appeared to have leaked the next DLC fighter for Dragon Ball FighterZ. Nintendo UK has now seemingly backed that up with a listing on its website.

We’ll be referring to the character in question from here on out. If you don’t want to be spoiled at all, be sure to turn around now.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s next update is coming soon. Version 4.0.0 goes live within the next week, Nintendo announced as part of an in-game notice. The company also just revealed a few minutes ago that it will host a presentation on July 30 to share more on the Hero DLC and the character’s release date.

Once the update is installed, players may not be able to view replays saved prior to this version. You can save replays ahead of time by visiting the Vault, then Replays, Replay Data, and finally Convert to Video.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Early reports are in for Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ debut sales in the UK.

In its first week, the game managed to top the charts. We’re also hearing that it sold nearly double the launch sales of Fire Emblem Awakening. On top of that, it had more than double the combined sales of the first two Fire Emblem Fates (Birthright / Conquest) games.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses secured the number one spot by a wide margin. It doubled up on the boxed sales of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which also came out a few days ago.

Hello my lovely left and right Joy-con! Are you stable or are you drifting? In this NEP, we talk logical about the hardware problems that are on the tip of everyone’s tongues to kick things off. We then hit you with fast paced news and some unintentionally analytical chats about games reviews and journalism. Then we cover Pokemon Masters, but we’re both kinda burnt out on Pokemon mobile efforts… But we have plenty of energy as we chew through all our lovely listener mails and tell the abridged story of when Oni met Galen. We hope you enjoy!

The best way to support our show is to give us a 5 star review on iTunes, so we would appreciate if you could help us grow! We really appreciate all your support and thank you so much for listening!

Years after it’s initial launch, DC Universe Online will be making its way to Switch on August 6. Some might be wondering: how did this happen in the first place?

Daybreak Game Company head Jack Emmert and executive producer Leah Bowers began talking about the idea after Bowers received a Switch as a Christmas gift and was impressed with the hardware. Despite some uncertainty as to whether or not it would actually work, the team received development kits and went from there.

Noisy Pixel has posted 15 minutes of direct-feed footage from Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX. Watch the new gameplay below.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX releases for Switch on September 26.

Japanese outlet 4Gamer recently had a chance to speak with a few members of the Oninaki development team. Atsushi Hashimoto, Takashi Tokita, and Ryutaro Sasaki participated in the discussion. The three developers talked about why the game is an action-RPG rather than turn-based, how long the story will be, the decision to mix up the art style following I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear, and more.

We’ve now prepared a full translation of the interview. If you’re interested in learning more about Square Enix’s Switch RPG, continue on below.

In his previous Famitsu column, Super Smash Bros. director delved into the creation of the series’ character reveal trailers when it comes to CG. But as we know, these videos also include gameplay segments. Sakurai explained how those sections are made in his latest column, which is much more involved that one would initially think.

Here’s our full translation of the column:

A massive game arrived on Switch yesterday in the form of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This is the first console Fire Emblem in the series in quite some time, and the first true entry in the series on Switch.

We imagine that many of you have started playing through Three Houses already. If that’s the case, how are you feeling about it so far? Which house did you choose? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

DC Universe Online launched years ago, so it’s currently out on a couple of different platforms. Switch is joining in on the fun when it releases August 6. However, cross-play and cross-progression won’t be supported – at least not right away.

We recently spoke with key members of the DC Universe Online development team about the possibility of adding in cross-play support later down the road. Executive producer Leah Bowers first told us that she won’t rule it out, and is something the team is very interested in.
