Nintendo shipped Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Switch’s launch in 2017. Hyrule Warriors, another Zelda-themed title, was added to the system’s library earlier this year. This streak may continue in the future, as Eurogamer claims that “Nintendo is keen to have a Zelda game launch on Switch every year.”

The company has many possibilities at its disposal going forward. Last weekend, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma seemingly teased Skyward Sword for Switch. Nintendo could also bring over the Wii U versions of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. There also hasn’t been a new 2D Zelda in awhile, and we’re bound to get another 3D entry at some point – just not next year.

Meanwhile, a lot has been made about a recent comment from Game Informer editor Imran Khan who said on a podcast that “the next Zelda will probably be sooner than we think.”

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Update (12/1): We’ve added the full patch notes below.

Original (11/29): The next big update for Kirby Star Allies has gone live. Nintendo and HAL Laboratory just started distribution of version 4.0.0.

Today’s update adds The Three Mage Sisters, Susie, Magalor, and Taranza as new Dream Friends. Heroes in Another Dimension is also in as a new mode. We’ll add in the full patch notes here once Nintendo publishes them.

Since the announcement of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee, some fans have questioned if the titles could be viewed as a spin-offs. However, in a new interview with director Junichi Masuda, he made it clear that it wasn’t the case. Masuda mentioned in the game’s official Japanese strategy title that the new Switch games “aren’t spin-offs” and are instead “core Pokemon titles.”

Masuda also addressed the possibility of having future Pokemon entries be compatible with Pokemon GO. He explained that if the functionality is well received in Pokemon: Let’s Go, “then we’ll think about maybe having future titles also be able to connect to it.”

Campo Santo announced Firewatch for Switch earlier this year. Today, the studio nailed down a release date.

Firewatch launches for Switch on December 17. Campo Santo intends to release the game in the Americas, Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Shumpalations has translated a classic interview with Yasuhiko Fujii. Fujii previously worked at Nintendo, and more specifically, on Super Metroid as a programmer.

At one point, Fujii was asked if there were any scenes in Super Metroid that were his ideas. That prompted him to recall how he snuck in a reference to a girl he was dating by the movement pattern of a certain group of Evir enemies.

Player versus player battles has been one of Pokemon GO’s most-requested features since launch. Very soon, Niantic may finally be delivering on fans’ wishes.

Niantic has been posting a few different teases on the Pokemon GO Twitter account today, culminating with the image above. It gives us what appears to be our first look at PvP. While we don’t really have much in the way of details yet, hopefully we’ll be learning more soon.
