The latest Nintendo Direct was held this week. There were quite a few announcements, especially from third-parties, during the 40-minute broadcast.

As far as new stuff from Nintendo goes, the company actually closed things out by announcing Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for 2020. Other highlights include Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore and Super Kirby Clash. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was given the spotlight by the reveal of Terry Bogard, the release of Banjo-Kazooie, and confirmation that even more DLC is on the way. We also can’t forget that SNES games have finally joined Nintendo Switch Online.

Third-parties were present in a big way, such as Overwatch which started the Nintendo Direct. Other announcements include Deadly Premonition 2 (and the original game seeing a shadowdrop on the eShop), Rogue Company, Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition, Return of the Obra Dinn, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Doom 64, Assassin’s Creed: The Rebel Collection, and Devil May Cry 2.

Now that the Nintendo Direct is over, what did you think of it? What was your personal highlight of the broadcast? Let us know in the comments below.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may have seemed like an impossible idea for Switch at one point, but at E3 2019, the game was announced for Nintendo’s console. CD Projekt Red has been collaborating with Saber Interactive to make the port possible.

Recently, we were able to speak with senior producer Piotr Chrzanowski about the new Switch version. Chrzanowski discussed how it came to be, the challenges involved, how the team managed to fit the entire experience (and its DLC) on a single cartridge, and more.

You can find our full interview below.

Today’s Nintendo Direct will be starting in an hour from now. Nintendo will be kicking off the broadcast at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET / 11 PM in the UK / 12 AM in Europe.

As previously mentioned, the Nintendo Direct will focus in 2019 games. Expect to hear more about Pokemon Sword/Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and many more games.

You can watch the Nintendo Direct as it happens below. We’ll also have a live blog going past the break. Finally, new posts will be added to the site throughout and after the presentation.

Hello, my boy cops and girl cops! In today’s episode of NEP, we’re catching up on a ton of game announcements and games we’ve been playing. Clifton Roy of Gayme Married on YouTube makes a brief cameo, Galen shares how he first found out about cheat codes and much more. Come hang out!

Daemon X Machina was first announced at E3 2018. The game then returned again for this year’s show, where a final September launch was announced. That comes off of a demo from earlier in 2019 in which players were able to share feedback with the development team.

A little while back, 4Gamer spoke with producer Kenichiro Tsukuda about Daemon X Machina. Before giving a brief status update on development progress and how the story is being treated, Tsukuda went in-depth about improvements and changes that have been implemented after fielding comments of those who tried out the demo. Tsukuda shared some interesting tidbits here, such as how the small text in Prototype Missions only happened due to an error in the code.

Remakes and re-releases are showing no sign of slowing down in the gaming industry. For its part, Nintendo has produced quite a few remakes of its own. Zelda: Link’s Awakening, a redone version of the Game Boy classic, will soon be coming to Switch – and that’s just one example. Zelda has certainly seen its fair share of remakes, but other IPs like Metroid and Pokemon have been given the same treatment.

Is there an older Nintendo game that you hold near and dear to your heart that you’d like to be revitalized for the current era? That’s what the focus of our Let’s Talk topic this week. If you have any thoughts on the subject, please do share them with us in the comments.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution gives fan of all ages and all eras a chance to have the experience of card gaming – from its collective nature, strategic building, and more – at home or on the go. While it doesn’t have the grab it once did, the franchise is alive and well and now has an incredibly high amount of cards. Yu-Gi-Oh! has always held a special place in my heart having grown up with it, despite me having fallen off around the time 5Ds was in circulation, so jumping back and learning so much of the new elements like pendulum and XYZ cards had a sort of thrill behind it, allowing me to catch up on all that I’ve missed. With Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, it is exactly what it sounds like – the legacy of Yu-Gi-Oh! as a property, and the adventures of Yugi Muto throughout the history of the illustrious series.

Square Enix delivered a bunch of news at its E3 2019 event earlier this summer. Among the announcements were two titles now confirmed for the west: Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa Scarlet Grace Ambitions.

Not too long ago, Famitsu spoke with Square Enix’s Akitoshi Kawazu and Masanori Ichikawa about the upcoming games. Topics include finally releasing the RPGs in the west, new content for Romancing SaGa 3, and more.

Here’s our full translation of the interview:

Hello, my Chocobos and Cactuars! This week on NEP, we’ve got the simultaneous worst and best episode yet! We’ve got Jared of Avalanche Reviews guesting in, but Galen’s mic crapped out once or twice, so his commentary is a little light in a few spots.

But Jared is here to get super nerdy with us about upscaling output video on retro consoles, as all three of us bond over Resident Evil and the best boys of YouTube. In particular, Jared talks about getting the best picture possible out of the SNES, N64 and GCN consoles; the Framemeister; and technical nonsense of video and retro graphics explained in easy-to-understand detail.

Nintendo fans don’t have to worry about Inti Creates slowing down on its support for Switch. Although the developer has been experimenting with more platforms as of late, the Big N’s console remains a top priority.

When asked about future Switch support from Inti Creates, president Takuya Aizu told us:
