Dunno. I just needed something to be the picture.

The beginning of this episode (about the first 25 minutes) sound really weird because Austin doesn’t know what he’s doing and messed up the mic. It’s still listenable, but the phonetic focus is on Laura and Austin and Jack sound like they’re far away. If you really can’t stand it, skip to 25 minutes in! This episode features a discussion on what Retro Studios is working on, some Zelda timeline discussion, and a long talk about graphics and their impact on games. Enjoy!

We look like we know a lot about videogames… right!?

I’ve gotta agree with Laura on this one: We’ve gotta stop doing such late podcasts! At least we made it to the end and through yet another two hour episode talking about Skyward Sword vs. Twilight Princess, all your daily news, some Mario discussion, and a few Resident Evil: Revelations HD impressions.

The book club with have more information appear later this weekend. All you need to know is to download The Starship Damrey from the Nintendo 3DS eShop as soon as possible.

Probably the most beautiful shot in the game; a beautiful homage to the very first ever NintendoEverything Book Club game being dominated!

Edit: Something’s up with the podcast host. Working on it now.

Talk about a long podcast! About 50 minutes of Super Mario RPG discussion wraps up the end of the episode preceded by all your regular news, what we played, listener questions, and a lengthy impromptu discussion on the nuances of game design and how fewer technical limitations could be bad for the industry. Enjoy!

The next book club poll will be posted tomorrow at some point, so look forward to that and thanks to everyone who played along. :]

Podcast or no podcast, I will defend this game until the day I die.

Your weekly news, what we’ve played, and reader questions all make their return, but this week also featured another heated discussion on Zelda, lots of talk of Nintendo’s future amidst the lack of Madden, more elongated Mario RPG talk, and a solid discussion of Shadow of the Eternals. Enjoy!

Edit: I changed the podcast picture. It was too weird.

Despite being a bit late (sorry about that!), we managed to squeeze out another episode this week, and it was yet another great one! I don’t know what we’re drinking, but it’s making our podcasting skills way better– and way more fun for us! This week is all the regular stuff, a list about the top ten Wii U system sellers, and our week three discussion of Super Mario RPG!

Oh, I said at the beginning that it was “1:11PM”, but that was wrong. I can’t read clocks apparently, because it was actually 11:11PM.

I completely forgot what I was supposed to use for this week’s image, so here’s a funny picture of Reggie and Miyamoto and someone else as The Matrix.

And finally we see a glimpse of what the Book Club is meant to be via a long discussion of Super Mario RPG at the end of this week’s episode! You can also expect to hear news, what we played, listener mail, and a top ten list of your guys’ favorite announcements from Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct.

Some of you may notice that our feed (iTunes/Feedburner/etc) is missing all of the episodes before episode 34 or so. That’s because our hosting service is a real piece of crap! So I’ll be switching to a more expensive (but hopefully more stable!) service in the coming days. Stay tuned– and thanks for listening. :]

Did you hear they’re remaking Super Mario RPG for DS?

The first ever book club discussion definitely has some kinks to be worked out… but part of that is recording a podcast at midnight! Aside from that minor hiccup, all is well this week, from lengthy monologues about Fire Emblem’s storytelling to some truncated user questions to get through just like every week.

Gotta love old-school Bill Trinen and Satoru Iwata.

Ah yes, another long podcast about the best Nintendo handhelds, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and LEGO City Undercover! We also go over what we played, news, your guys’ questions, and give you all the details you need to know about the NintendoEverything book club!

Almost entirely unrelated to the podcast: Is this seriously what Nintendo TVii’s TV Tag is for?

Not to jinx anything, but this is the second podcast in a row that was filled with insanely dense discussions about games/the industry, touching on subjects like Wii U third party support and how Phil Fish might have a point about dual-screens being a gimmick, PLUS lots of talk about LEGO City, Twilight Princess, and all the news you could want.

Why is Zelda so happy? Because we had the best podcast ever this week, and we talked a whole bunch about her games!

I don’t think Jack or Laura would disagree with me if I said that this podcast was the best one we’ve ever done. We got into so many deep and saturated tangental discussions, as well as having some great laughs, lots of news, and some somewhat surprising reader poll results. Enjoy!
